The name Three Angels Ranch was chosen to honor my children Haeley, Triston, and Atticus. They are the inspiration and motivation for most of the things I do. For several years it was just a nice place in the woods a few minutes from Lake Sam Rayburn that we called home.
As an avid hunter that spent a large amount of time traveling far away to find a quality hunt at a reasonable price. My friends and I began to discuss how great it would be to have a place that offered quality hunts right here by Lake Sam Rayburn. That thought became a dream, and the dream became a goal. So, by the grace of God, some good fortune, and a lot of hard work, Three Angels Ranch became a reality!
The property was fenced in 2005 and the first group of South Texas deer were delivered in 2006. Over the next few years more 200 class South Texas genetics were added to the herd. We began offering hunts on a very limited basis in 2011. In 2013 and 2014 we offered considerably more hunts and found out that the original thought behind the dream was one shared by many throughout South East Texas and South West Louisiana.
Most of the people we did hunts for had been traveling far away to hunt and were tired of the long drives and the hassles that came with it. They were quick to point out how happy they were to find a ranch that offered everything they wanted so close to home. When they learned that you can actually see Lake Sam Rayburn from a hill on Three Angels Ranch, that both Twin Dikes and Mill Creek boat ramps were just a few miles away and that the all new Rayburn Country Golf Course is even closer, they realized they had found a sportsman’s paradise! We also have 2 stocked ponds on the property. One 3-4 acre pond stocked in 2000 has some real trophy bass up to the 13 pound class and one that is closer to 9 acres was stocked a few years ago with 11,000 pure Florida Strain Bass. Both ponds attract lots of ducks, dove, bald eagles, hawks, roadrunners, cranes, and just about any other type of bird that comes through South East Texas. The ponds are their own attraction and offer the opportunity for a great day using your preferred small water craft like a canoe or kayak.
People in the group that are not interested in hunting, fishing, golfing, or bird watching? No problem, Three Angels Ranch offers plenty of other ways to just relax and enjoy yourself including the following:
Sit at the bar in the outdoor kitchen and watch football on the 60” plasma television.
Curl up by the fireplace or on the front porch and read a book.
Catch some rays by the 52X21 foot swimming pool, and yes weather will permit this during deer season on some days.
Relax in the 8X8 hot tub.
Watch your favorite show or catch a movie in the oversized TV room with surround sound.
If a more private and rustic setting is desired, settle in at the extra cabin overlooking the big pond and experience the Texas sunset at its best.
Lake Front condo on Lake Sam Rayburn with 2 bedrooms and 2 full baths is just a few miles away and can be booked in advance.
Play football, soccer, or have a game of catch in the sports field behind the pool house.
We currently hunt during rifle seasons including youth weekends. That usually means the first weekend of November through the first week or so of January, plus the youth weekend prior to the opening of the regular season and the one immediately after the regular season. We also do bow hunts during archery season. However experience makes it necessary for me to remind you that if your arrow hits it you own it! We will make every reasonable effort to find your animal in the time you have booked for your hunt but if we can’t then you still own it. This policy is true for riffle hunts as well, just like any other ranch, but we obviously have greater success with a bullet than we do with arrows.
For the 2015 hunting season were only doing 40 hunts max! Some quality selections still available! Contact us today for the hunt of a lifetime!
